How to add new Permission Levels into Sapling
As we all know, HR systems like Sapling store incredibly sensitive data. It is a critical function to make sure only the right people have visibility over certain information, and our robust Permission Levels help ensure everything is shared only with the correct person at the correct time.
As a high-level summary, there are 5 types of permission levels that you can apply in Sapling:
*Note: all employees brought into Sapling (no matter what their job title is) come in under the basic “employee” permission level unless they have direct reports, in which case they will flow into the “manager” permission level. To be in any other permission group, Admins/Super Admins have to add them manually by selecting Permission > Edit members.
You also have the option to create a new “Permission Role” type within one of these 5 standard groups. For example - let’s say you have an IT Admin in your London office that needs special access to certain profile fields. After you select which of the 5 permission levels you want to add them to (for this example, Admin), you can then create a custom view for their specific role.
